One of Ron Strollo's goals as Athletic Director has been to annually upgrade all of Youngstown State's Athletic Facilities. Looking back over the years, here are some of the notable upgrades:
2009: New South-Scoreboard, Flagpoles, Chairback Seating, and Loge Renovations at Stambaugh Stadium; Final Four Baskets and renovated locker rooms in Beeghly Center
2008: New Wooden Floor in Beeghly Center
2005-2007: New Lighting, Sound System, Weight Room, etc. in Beeghly Center, Misc. Renovations in Stambaugh Stadium.

Over the next few years, YSU will look to aggressively renovate and expand the current athletic facilities. Plans are in the works for the $10 million WATTS Center to be completed by Fall 2010, as well as a new softball field, track, and outdoor practice field to be built across the street from Stambaugh Stadium at a cost of around $2.1 million. That money was approved by the YSU Board of Trustees this past week as part of $24.5 million the University is borrowing over the coming years.

In addition to that, major renovations are currently taking place in the football locker room facilities inside Stambaugh Stadium. The new locker rooms will have brand new lockers, LCD TVs, and couches (from what we were told in October).
