Eric Wolford and his staff continue their travels throughout Florida, offering six more recruits in the Tampa Bay area this past week. These six recruits, plus the four recruits offered last week, brings the total number of recruits offered (all from Florida) right now to ten. When we discover more recruits offered by Youngstown State, we will bring it to you first.

As you will see, the following recruits have offers from Washington State, Colorado State, New Mexico, and a number of other schools. Unfortunately, we were unable find any recruiting videos for these recruits:

Youngstown State Head Coach Eric Wolford has offered scholarships to four recruits from the Tampa Bay (FL) area. These are his first four offers in the 2011 recruiting class. We added recruit pages for each of the recruits with links to their Scout and Rivals pages in those sites respective logos. As you will notice, the first recruit, Jamie Byrd, has a scholarship offer to Purdue. All four recruits are receiving interest from bigtime FBS programs across the country.

Courtesy Cincinnati.com: Winton Woods senior LB Cornelius Roberts (5-11, 205) has committed to play at Youngstown State, according to Winton Woods coach Troy Everhart. Roberts, a three-year letterwinner, had 30 solo tackles, 26 assists, six tackles for loss and one caused fumble last season.

Cornelius Roberts is yet another signee in Eric Wolford's 2010 recruiting class. Roberts does not have a page on any of the recruiting sites, but we were able to find his highlight tape from his junior season from Mark Porter of ScoutingOhio.com. Since we have little new news to break to you, we have decided to post another highlight tape of one of the top recruits in the 2010 class, that being inside linebacker Ali Cheaib. Coming out of high school, ESPN rated him the 5th back ILB in all of Florida and the 65th best in all of America. Here is Ali Cheaib:

Former Ohio State quarterback Greg Frey said the following of Logan High School quarterback and YSU commit Patrick Angle, "in my opinion, the best quarterback in the State of Ohio, period." Angle has received pretty high praise from just about everyone that talks about him. In the OHSFCA North vs. South Game, Angle threw for 115 yards and a touchdown on 7 of 12 passing; much better than his teammate, Verlon Reed, a QB recruit heading to Ohio State. Reed went just 1 of 7 passing for 10 yards and rushed for 45 yards on 5 carries. However, due to Reed's running ability, he was awarded the MVP of the game over Angle.

With Spring Practice now complete and not too much to talk about, we figured we would take the time to cover our recruits in football and basketball in the next few months on the homepage of this website.

Today we will begin by revisiting the top recruit in Eric Wolford's 2010 class, 4-Star Adaris Bellamy. Here is his highlight tape from YouTube. From people our writers have talked to, we are hearing that this kid could be a Walter Payton candidate within no time at the FCS level; he has the skills to be that good. Despite his small height, Bellamy carries a punch and is extremely difficult to get down. Without further ado, Adaris Bellamy:

Three weeks after signing day, YSU coach Eric Wolford has added another top recruit.

Running back Adaris Bellamy, who signed with the University of South Florida in 2009 but was told last month there was no longer a scholarship available to him with the Bulls, will sign today with the Penguins, the St. Petersburg Times reported.

Bellamy spent last fall at Fork Union (Va.) Military Academy, which is the same school former Ursuline High standout Jamel Turner is attending. Turner signed with Ohio State earlier this month.

This is what we know about Bellamy: Rivals rates him as a 4-Star RB, while Scout ranks him as a 3-Star RB. In addition to his scholarship offer to South Florida, he was also offered by Clemson, Mississippi, and Iowa State. Earlier this month, his high school head coach at Dunedin (FL), Mark Everett, said that Bellamy was going to sign for the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Without a doubt, this is the biggest signing of the YSU 2010 class, and one of the biggest signings at the FCS level.

Per WFMJ and MyValleySports.com: Cardinal Mooney 3-Star OL/DL Eric Franklin and his teammate OL Zach Larson have committed to Youngstown State. YSU also got commitments today from LB's Thomas Sprague of Gainesville High School in Georgia and Ali Cheaib of Dunedin High School in Florida.

Also Breaking Today, Syracuse CB Grant Mayes, a 3-Start Rivals and Scout prospect has transferred, or is planning to transfer, to Youngstown State according to Scout.com.

We are just nine days away from National Letter of Intent Day on February 3rd. YSU Head Coach Eric Wolford has been working aggressively to bring top quality recruits to Youngstown. As of today, YSU has four verbal commitments:

Ursuline High School star running back Allen Jones announced on his Facebook page this evening that he will be a YSU Penguin in 2010. This is the first commitment for new YSU Head Coach Eric Wolford.

Jones has been a three year starter for Ursuline High School, guiding the Irish to three consecutive appearances in the OHSAA Division V State Championship Game, including state titles the last two years. Allen Jones has rushed for over 4,300 yards in his career, which makes him the all-time leading rusher in Ursuline High School history. Anyone that knows anything about Ursuline knows that is a major accomplishment, because they have historically been a big running school.
